I wouldn't re-do 2011.
No matter how much shit I’ve been through this year, I wouldn’t even consider going back in time and changing everything. Part of life is suprise. You’re not going to enjoy life if you already know what’s going to happen. You can’t always expect life to go your way. Everything happens for a reason. Even though there were bad times, there were good times, and I wouldn’t want to overshadow those....

International researchers estimate North Korea has... →
motherjones: They are estimated to be small — considerably smaller, even, than the bomb dropped on Hiroshima, which is thousands of times smaller than the largest US and Russian warheads’ yields — but a nuclear weapon is a nuclear weapon. We’ll be working on this part of the North Korea story in coming days.

happymonsters: This girl I used to be friends with has recently earned the reputation of the “town slut” (more or less) solely because - apparently (and really, it’s all hearsay) - she hooks up with any attractive give she meets at parties. I never really quite knew how to feel about this. As a feminist I’m…

AAS Paper and Identity
While writing a paper for my African American Studies class, I realize that the class has really influenced me to change my perspective on identity and the classification of oneself. I don’t think I am necessarily undergoing an identity crises but I realize why I feel a little bit queasy when I have to list myself as an Asian American on any form that I am filling out. Actually, I now...

I hate when I have an entire essay to write but I can’t force myself to start it.

How abuse changes a child's brain →
The brains of children raised in violent families resemble the brains of soldiers exposed to combat, psychologists say. They’re primed to perceive threat and anticipate pain, adaptations that may be helpful in abusive environments but produce long-term problems with stress and anxiety. “For them to detect early cues that might signal danger is adaptive. It allows them to react, to try and avoid...

I finally got around to transferring these photos from my phone to the computer.  Oakland General Strike (when they shut the port) Noor, Roop, and I climbed this scary looking structure. That is Roop climbing down. This also Oakland’s general strike (there is suppose to be Occupy Oakland written  in windows of the building but the picture is too blurry to see it). Oakland Strike...

I am lost. I need guidance. I don’t know what I want to do. I am scared. I want more. I need to find what I love.  I need to do what I love.

Friday
I hate being sick, esp. around finals time. Biology midterm today was a little difficult but doable. I heard Cornel West and Carl Dix talk thanks to Roop and her waiting in line for over an hour. It really made up for the bio midterm. Carl Dix was a good speaker and stated some good points but Cornel West was an amazing speaker. He really knows how to capture an audience and he is very  poetic...

Interesting Articles:
Massachusetts sued 5 major banks (Citigroup, JP Morgan Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo and GMAC) for unlawful foreclosures. http://www.npr.org/2011/12/01/143006695/massachusetts-sues-big-banks-over-foreclosures The senate approved a $662 Billion Defense Bill, in order for the military to expand and detain more “possible” terrorist. ...
